Portable Algae Fluorometer(HK-2000) is a device which
detects and measures the existence of toxic substance
in the water by activating a test sample using algae.

This device enables a speedier and simpler measurement than a spectrophotometer or HPLC thanks to its
fluorescence measurement method
.


◆ Product Feature

- The measurement of fluorescence in algae is really a speedy and simple way of checking out any toxic substance in a test sample.

- The use of a Dual-Bio Reactor, which measures the comparison group samples and the test group samples at the same time, is really time-saving because of its excellent reproduction capability and sensitive reaction.

- A built-in power supply system of the device ensures an excellent portability.

- It can also be easily connected to a interface(PC) by using its output(RS-232C/USB).

- An operating software will be provided separately to facilitate your checking of the data base and graphics as well as the reports.

◆ Measurement Principal

- The device induces an activation of photosynthesis on algae every 10 seconds by using 440nm wavelength light source. The 440nm wavelength light source raises the extinction coefficient of chlorophyll-a to a near-maximum level.

- After photosynthesis, algae usually emits 683nm wavelength fluorescence. Emitted fluorescence will be translated into electric signals in a light detector.

- Both the comparison group samples and the test group samples react the same way and emits fluorescence.

- The electric signals so translated in a light detector is magnified before changed into digital signals. And the digital signals show two different figures, namely, minimum fluorescence value(F) and maximum fluorescence value(Fm).

Fluorescence yield is derived from the comparison of the minimum and maximum values of the comparison group samples and the test group samples, and is converted to WEM-TOX(%) values to show the final results.
